Features of the organization of the Euro-Asian sniping championships

Relevance. Sports shooting in Russia has rich traditions that have been laid down since the emergence of long-barreled rifled weapons. In the 30s of the last century, millions of Soviet citizens passed the Voroshilov Shooter standard, acquiring shooting skills. For a long time after the Great Patriotic War, sports shooting from large-caliber rifles and carbines was possible only within the framework of departmental activities of various law enforcement agencies [18]. Small–caliber weapons have always been used in Olympic sports disciplines - bullet shooting, biathlon.
The purpose of the study is to study the peculiarities of the organization of sniping competitions in the context of current legal norms.
Methods and organization of research. Currently, weapons for participation in the Eurasian Sniping Championship fall into the following category: "hunting firearms with a rifled barrel." Citizens of the Russian Federation who have been granted the right to hunt in accordance with the established procedure have the right to purchase it, provided that they have been engaged in professional hunting-related activities or have owned hunting fire-firing smoothbore long-barreled weapons for at least five years.
The results and their discussion. Thanks to the active civic position of the participants and the leadership of the Precision Shooting Federation of Russia (FVSR), the long-term work initiated by the FVSR on amending the Federal Law "On Weapons", No. 150-FZ, Article 16, allowing the reloading of cartridges for rifled weapons, was successfully completed. Federal Law No. 219-FZ dated 07/19/2018 "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On Weapons" adopted the following amendment: "Citizens of the Russian Federation who, before the date of entry into force of this Federal Law, have been granted permits to store and carry civilian firearms with long barrels, have the right to produce for personal use independent equipment of cartridges for such weapons without training in safe self-equipment of cartridges for civilian firearms long-barreled weapons".
Conclusions. In general, since 2018, the Eurasian Sniping Championship has shown the highest level of organization and conduct of competitions, as well as the professional skills of the participants. In many respects, these competitions are not only not inferior, but also surpass similar competitions of European and world level.
