Abstract
Relevance. Sports activity in the human mind most often causes associations with physical activity, a competitive process in the realization of human physical capabilities. It is the active external activity using the human body that most often appears to us as the most vivid association with such a phenomenon as sports. Nevertheless, regardless of the sports activity, sometimes we can see completely unexpected results of competitions. Cases when, by all parameters, the favorite, the person who promises victory before the start of the confrontation, is defeated as a result by a weaker opponent. Or, for example, situations in which an incredibly talented athlete with personal innate qualities for a particular sport achieves significantly less success at a distance than a not so talented athlete, but at the same time a strong-willed, hardworking athlete who is suitable for every training session with a serious attitude.
The purpose of the study is to determine the theoretical and methodological aspects of psychological training of athletes.
Methods and organization of research. The criteria for the psychological preparation of an athlete are such parameters as: orientation in space, a sense of distance, speed of reaction, logical and tactical thinking, concentration of attention, stable emotional state, etc.
The results of the study and their discussion. The interaction of coaches, athletes and the organization also has an important impact on the psychological readiness of athletes. Communication between these categories of people is of great importance here. Their ideas about the goals, opportunities and means of achieving these goals should at least have similarities and some commonality.
Conclusions. The main category of psychological readiness becomes psychological stability, which includes a stable emotional background, a mood for victory, and concentration on achieving goals despite negative and disturbing factors.
